Understanding Climate Change and Security in South Asia

Prior to the RSG, GPPAC South Asia organised a public meeting with key members of Nepal's strategic and diplomatic community. The main objective was to initiate a discussion on climate, peace, and security, and to contextualise it for the region. The former foreign secretary of Nepal provided the keynote address, followed by a welcome address by the Deputy Head of Cooperation at the Delegation of the EU in Kathmandu. Other dignitaries included diplomats, former military officers, members of the media, academics, and civil society leaders.

During the event, GPPAC South Asia members also felicitated Ms Visaka Dharmadasa for her recent Women Peace Building Award by the USIP.
